The controversial appointment of Adrian Sutil by Force India is going around the F1 world as he prepares to come out on track today. Most of the drivers are in installation laps so far here at the Circuit de Catalunya.

- Interestingly, Redbull decides not to keep the DRS open as long as they don't have a car within one second ahead of them. According to BBC's Chief technical analyst, Gary Anderson, they might be concentrating on race performance.
- McLaren's Jenson Button smashes the time barriers and is the quickest so far with Nico Hulkenberg behind him. Force India's Adrian Sutil had a good run after an year of break from Formula One.
- Romain Grosjean goes fastest and the drivers are making use of the dry conditions. An hour and a half to go. Watch out for Jenson Button on his McLaren.
