Alonso Manages to Escape

When the cars lined up for the start of the Belgian Grand Prix at Spa, there was a lot of talk about the championship leader Alonso and Lewis Hamilton's racing position and if one of them can win the race. The crowd was excited to have a clear sky after the downpours which affected the practise sessions. But at the first corner race took a dramatic and drastic turn as  Romain Grosjean's Lotus pulled just in front of McLaren's Lewis Hamilton's car which then collided with Alonso just managed to escape unhurt. Pastor Maldonado started his race anyone else. The incident caused widespread discussion on the safety issues of Formula One racing.

Learning from Experience

I totally agree with BBC's technical analyst, Gary Anderson's view of the young drivers not learning from their mistakes. Maldonado should have been patient and Grosjean should have just kept to his racing line. Both of the drivers had a few mistakes and tough times with the stewards still the aggression seems to step in here and there. Utterly disappointed for Alonso, Hamilton and Sergio Perez. The tough decision by FIA to fine and ban Grosjean was the right thing to do. A decision also has been made to improve the head protection which is welcome move.

Formula One Aggression

Aggression, competitive spirit and the urge to be the quickest, an F1 driver needs all of the above. But races are longer than a lap which is won after hard work of more than an hour consist of average 50 laps. It can't be won in the first corner and the less than a second advantage a driver again at the first corner won't matter much if his pit stops don't come together and if this car isn't quick. Race is won when you could race you motor to the perfection with the help of your crew at the pit and a bit of luck. I am sure rookies will learn this and we won't see such incidents in the future.
